The refrigerator and a small cabinet were removed to facilitate replacement of the sub-flooring and flooring.

The telephone desk, held by two screws and one nail came away from the wall quite easily...that is it around the corner.

The East edge of the old porch and the crawl space under the kitchen. The diagonal piece of framing actually defines a skew plane to bridge the change of about 1/4" difference between the two rooms. The newer wood was added to firm up this previously spongy section of floor.

Additional support for the joint was placed below the two pieces and both were anchored to it, and it is anchored to the wall and joist.

Corwin drives screws into the sub-flooring to anchor them to the 2 x 4's after construction adhesive had been applied to the framework.

Without the hanging cabinet the whole space is quite open.
